To which numbers are the TII and Invincible Charted Album cards limited? As far as I understood your explanation, a BAD Charted Album card would be limited to 87 of each - gold, platinum and diamond. Will TII be limited to only 9 or to 109? Same with Invincible

And what is the exact difference between a Number Ones platinum/diamond parallel card and a Number Ones Deluxe on the front of the cards? I can identify a parallel card by the card number on the back, but what will a Deluxe look like on the front? Maybe anyone knows?

Is it common with trading cards that a full list of all existing cards is published, I mean with pictures?

1) The first part of your question is simple, since there are no Chartered Record cards for TII or Invincible. Panini only made them for the first five Epic Albums--OTW, Thriller, BAD, Dangerous, and HIStory (and nothing for BOTDF either). You can see the pics of them here. And there are 10 parallel cards for these-a Gold and Platinum version of each.

2) For the second part, I'm not entirely sure (yet) what Panini was referring to when they refer to the Number Ones DELUXE. Maybe someone who has opened more packs than I have knows. I do know that the difference in the parallel cards is very subtle, and at first it's hard to tell them apart. But then it's easy if you remember that those with the RED print are the base cards, and the numbered cards are printed in GOLD, SILVER, etc.

3) Sometimes there is a "checklist", but it does not have pictures. And there was no checklist for these MJ cards. Who knows why, maybe because there are too many cards? But if you include just the 190 base cards and 59 insert cards, surely there could have been a few checklist cards made. Eventually, we will have *all* of the cards on our site, but that is definitely a future project!

Well, regarding 1)

I'm a bit confused now because the link you posted leads to the official Panini blog entry about a set called "Charted RECORDS" with numbers on the back from CR1 to CR5. From pictures I have seen from people who already have some cards, these are called "Charted ALBUMS" with the numbers CA 1-CA10. For instance these two pics:

Also, all the listings for "charted" cards on Ebay are called Charted Albums.

I compared the text from the Dangerous Charted Records card with the Dangerous Charted Albums and it's the same. So, has there just been a renaming of that set or are these different kind of cards?

The Charted Albums cards start with Off The Wall and also include BOTDF, Invincible, The Essential and TII, like you can see here: http://cgi.ebay.com/11-PANINI-MICHAEL-JACKSON-CHARTED-ALBUMS-CA-10-/230639448468?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b32eb194

http://cgi.ebay.com/MICHAEL-JACKSON-PANINI-CHARTED-ALBUMS-CA9-ESSENTIAL-/390323872121?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae11da179

And for those releases after 2000, it would be interesting to know how many of each card were produced.

Ahhh, you got me! Yes, it does appear that Panini changed this, and added 5 new releases to the renamed "Chartered RECORDS". Odd that they did not do this in time to update it on their blog, because that blog entry was only posted a couple of weeks ago!

I don't know as to the number produced, but my guess is it would not be less than 100 for Invincible, etc., so that OTW, Thriller, etc. would be the rarest. Also, on the box itself, it refers to the inserts as being called "Chartered RECORDS" (and that there are 10 of them). Keep in mind that the numbered cards you are talking about are only pertaining to the foil stamped versions of the 10 cards, not the standard base cards, which are probably all produced in the same number. As for in what quantity the foil stamped cards are printed in for Essential, TII, etc., I suppose I can find out from Panini America at some point (or, you can ask them yourself right here: www.paniniamerica.net/custserv.cfm, or post to one of Tracey's blogs and see if he replies).

I'm sorry for asking again, Ron

According to this list: mjjcollectors.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=183:michael-jackson-official-panini-cards-box-set&catid=41:whats-new-in-the-shop

there are no Charted Album base cards. These are insert cards only produced with a gold, platinum or silver foil stamping and each of the Charted Albums cards is limited to the number of the album's year of release. Or did I get that wrong? OK, I will have a try and ask Panini.

You mentioned what's written on the box itself. I have taken a quick look at the picture of the box again and I think not everything written on the box is correct. Besides the "Charted Records" there also seems to be a difference to the number of cards in the base set. On the box, it reads "a 240-card base set including 162 commons" althought it's just a 190-card base set with 112 commons, right? Do you have an explanation why some much things have apparently been changed so shortly before the release?
